Starlight & Lavender // Spring Wedding Inspiration

A sweet inspiration board for a spring wedding under the stars for you today. In fact, it’s the inspiration for a wedding that will be {sssshhhh} in the new Martha Stewart Weddings magazine that is out this coming Monday! This wedding evolved quite a bit throughout the planning process, but this is where we started. The couple envisioned an evening on a ranch under candlelight and twinkling stars, mixing a bohemian vibe with touches of classic formalism. Wildflowers in pink and lavender tones were on the tables amongst a family-style dinner with their favorite people. It was quite the party! More on Monday…

Blush Pink and Gold Wedding Inspiration

I’m not much of a pink person, but when it’s paired with gold, I’m not so opposed. This blush pink and gold wedding inspiration is perfect for a fall wedding, don’t you think? While it might seem overwhelmingly feminine, the addition of the “french grey” tones of the chalkboard evens things out, so it’s not screaming “GIRLY!” And the best part? It could actually work well in the spring! Throw in some blush pink and white sweet peas and other fresh spring blooms, and you’re good to go.

New Year, New Look, New Business Cards!

New Year, New Look // The Nouveau Romantics // Austin Wedding Planning and Event Design Studio

It’s been more than half a year in the making, but one of the best (small) ways of welcoming in the new year of 2014 is a new look — our logo! The delightful Chelsea of Go Forth Creative worked with me to revamp our look and feel, and after three plus years, it feels pretty good to get it right. [I actually designed our first logo really fast to get something up and out there in 2010, and never was able to go back and really look at the fonts, adjust some tiny sizing, etc. It drove me nuts! Now all is well in the logo world.] Read More

Spring Wedding Inspiration // Garnet + Amber

Fall is finally here in Austin, and while we’re rejoicing in the fact that it’s finally “cold” enough to wear long sleeves for at least part of the day, we are busy planning for our Spring 2014 weddings! This inspiration board takes some of the stereotypical pastel spring wedding colors and turns them up a notch. Add drama by choosing rich, luxurious amber tones, while throwing in a few classic neutrals to ensure things don’t get too crazy. And you really can’t go wrong adding those little pops of garnet!

Bold Wedding Inspiration | Crimson and Neutrals

The girls in the studio like to poke fun at me as I err on the side of soft and subdued, but this crimson and neutral inspiration board proves that we can go bright and bold, but still keep it dramatic and elegant. We have an Indian-meets-Taiwan wedding in the works, and while this wasn’t the final color palette selected, it is still one of my absolute favorites. It’s good to shake things up a bit, right? Here’s to the bold and colorful couples out there!
