May // In Review

Along with the flowers and warmer weather comes wedding season downtime, and an opportunity to venture out and explore potential wedding venues in the area. We recently recieved an exclusive preview of Fair Market, an up and coming event venue located in an iconic warehouse in the downtown eastside of Austin with an adjoining outdoor area. Envision the garage doors raised for beautiful natural light and a blank canvas (with vaulted ceilings and the space for guests to dance, eat, and mingle). We can’t wait to design within this breathtaking space. The possibilities are endless!

We also stopped by Ma Maison in Dripping Springs, a beautiful hill country haven complete with live oaks, a stunning ball room and a covered patio furnished with fans and misters. As planners we really appreciated that Ma Maison is not only beautiful, but also very well thought out. No detail was forgotten, even the catering kitchen is well designed! This is a venue that has popped up on a lot of folks’ radar.

We also made an appearance on the Junebug Weddings blog where they featured Christine & Rob’s gorgeous garden-inspired fall wedding at Barr Mansion under “What Junebug Loves.”

We love it, too. The deep, jewel tone, pinks and purples with brass candlesticks and trailing greenery made up a strong palette for us to draw from when designing the floral arrangements. See the full post on Christine & Rob’s celebration here.

Other notes from the month: Our fearless leader made a scouting mission to NYC as we continue to flesh out all the details (found here) of the expansion. We also experimented some with color, exploring beautiful Blues as well as Plums & Gold. We celebrated a Mother’s Day Brunch with Camille Styles, and found out some great news about Shelter Co. coming to Austin. We shared photos and details from Heather and Tibaut’s amazing ranch wedding in a two part blog post (Part II found here), and talked about using Pinterest as a resource rather than replicating what we see. June promises to abound with more excursions and creative outlets!
