Plum & Gold // Spring Wedding Inspiration

Summer Wedding Inspiration // Plum & Gold // by The Nouveau Romantics

It’s amazing to look back at one of our first photo shoots in 2011 [at the Wild Onion Ranch with The Nichols Photography] and realize that the combination of rich plum purple and gold continues to be a pair that has continued to be a source of inspiration! We created this inspiration board envisioning an outdoor setting come early spring or fall, as the deeper tones of midnight and fig help ground the overall feeling, while the softer tones of plum, amethyst, and soft peach provide a feminine contrast. As a lover of all things metallic, the use of gold as a neutral and uniting element definitely gives the whole evening a festive feeling, and this could be the perfect mix for those that are looking to walk the line between formal tradition with a feminine-yet-wild side. While we used spring blooms in this board, I think many of the late October / early November blooms could be equally perfect in this mix. Be sure to think about how you can mix delicate, small floral elements with deeper contrast in larger pieces — linens, paper goods, etc.

Four years later, plum and gold are still in the mix, and this board shows just how versatile they are depending on their “supporting characters” of color!
